Dr. Yi was born in Yangon, Myanmar in the summer of 1979. He moved to the United States with his family at the age of 14. They settled in Central Jersey where his parents and sister’s family still reside to this day. Dr. Yi became interested in dentistry after college. He worked at Boston University, Goldman School of Dental Medicine for two years as a dental research technician after graduating from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. The time spent there sparked his interest in dentistry. Dr. Yi applied and was accepted to New York University, College of Dentistry. After graduating in May of 2008, Dr. Yi moved back to New Jersey where he did one year of general practice residency at St. Peter’s hospital in the township of Paterson. Dr. Yi moved to Fairfax County, VA in late 2014 and had worked in a few offices as an associate dentist before deciding to open his own practice with Dr. Hai Trieu. They had gone to dental school together and have known each other for many years. Dr. Yi is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association and Northern Virginia Dental Society. He enjoys treating patients of all ages and educating them about their dental health. He likes to keep himself abreast with the latest developments in dentistry by taking continued education courses. He likes to spend time with his family and friends in his free time. Dr. Yi is an avid foodie and enjoys many different ethnic cuisines.
